Golden Days of Fall

When Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine started their monthly Sketchy Challenge, I vowed not to miss a single month. Unfortunately, life interceded and scrapbook inspiration was low, so I missed April and May. When I caught up I decided to try and go back and finish those two layouts I missed, and now with the Canadian Scrapbooker self-uploader, it meant I could still add them to the gallery.

So, here is the May 2012 sketch. Just one more month (April) to try and catch up on.

for Beach Bums

This layout ended up outside my typical style, which is great. It's a photo I took last month when we spent the weekend at Pictou Lodge Resort. I love the bright colours and the ribbon match up on this layout, but I think my favourite part was the lettering for the title. I took some glitter alpha stickers from Making Memories and painted them tan - so when you touch them they feel like sand, and they look like sand too because of the few faint touches of glitter that come through the paint!

The sketch was from the June 2012 Sketchy Challenge at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.

King Tut's Tomb

This layout was made for a sketch layout for the Winter 2012 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker magazine. It seems they're trying to solicit more two-page layouts, so they've created a new "Double the Fun" challenge, giving you a two-page layout sketch for inspiration.

Here is the sketch by Kelly Klapstein:

Christmas Card

I realized this week when I went looking for a picture of this card that it had somehow escaped posting - so I took a new picture and decided to share. I made a few versions of these cards last year for Christmas. They were so easy and I loved the colour combination.

A new layout for a Canadian Scrapbooker challenge. The challenge - to use red and green on a layout. I further challenged myself to NOT do a Christmas layout, which that colour scheme so easily lends itself to. Fortunately my Christmas photos tend to not be the greatest quality so I had to find an alternative :D
